12/21/2023 0 Comments 2010 chevy aveo oil in coolant![]() I can try the pressure checker when the car is cool and hopefully a leak will unveil itself. I did check and there's no oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. ![]() Have you looked at the possibility of a head gasket failure, coolant boils and steams BUT car is NOT overheating - coolant in oil or oil in coolant are some signs of failed head gasket.Īs far as the engine light being on - have the system scanned for codes and post them. We would use a coolant system pressure tester- this allows the system to be pressurized - eng off and cool makes looking for the leak easier. Re: 2010 Chevy Aveo LT 1.6 engine coolant leaking I don't want to spend no more money than I have to. I'm due for an emission and with that light on I know it's an automatic fail. But I don't know for sure, I wonder if anyone else has had this type of problem. Today, I just thought about the over head hose any thoughts on how to check if the hose is going bad. It could be from the coolant boiling over, but I'm hoping after I replace the reservoir and the O2 sensor that my engine light would go off. The leaking is what gets me the most, the leak is always in the area of the coolant reservoir and no where else. I'm in the works of replacing the reservoir and the O2 sensor. I have replaced the thermostat housing and the water pump. The car is not over heating, however it does go to the middle of the temperature gauge when I drive not too far from my house. The coolant boils and steams and the coolant looks like it's boiling over from the reservoir itself. ![]() My coolant reservoir leaks coolant in the area of the coolant reservoir.
