Even though it’s a college town there are no bars or crazy parties. It’s got a wonderful culture of down to earth friendly people. It’s a small college town where everyone is welcomed and taken in. Read 69 reviewsĬurrent Resident: Rexburg is by far the best place I’ve ever lived. Its small town community, the whole area has about 100,000 people covering Moscow and Pullman and Clarkston. What do you want in life? Peace, satisfaction, good neighbors, caring people, a decent city government, kindness towards each other? If so Lewiston is a good place, don't compare it with San Francisco Portland or Seattle. Normal hill is near the college and I would have been a volunteer mentor to some of the many students I met at events. Yes its true there is little night life but that was not our interest. I liked the people I met and also came in contact with the police dept. But I had dreams, money was not a problem nor income for retirement. The sad part was that after realizing my age, I could not pack up the spouse and move. I looked at houses and found one on normal hill. Visitor: I have visited friends who live in Lewiston. We get all the beautiful seasons! Clean, fresh mountain pine air to breathe. Mostly a red state, but as people move here it’s turning a bit more blue. It’s right in the downtown area! We are 45 mins from the Spokane, WA Airport. Tubb’s Hill is where lots of people go for a nice walk/hike with water mountain views. During the Christmas season, downtown is all lit up, especially the Coeur d’Alene Resort & Marina. Good nightlife (live bands) at a few of the bars. The downtown is so nice! There’s lots of restaurants, bars & shops. The things we love most about the area is living near all the many lakes, mountains & pine trees. Prices have significantly gone up since we’ve been here. We came from living our life in the Bay Area of Northern California. But remember, this is just a snapshot of our great state – there’s no shortage of amazing places to discover, especially off the beaten path!Ĭan’t decide where to start? This stunning lake is gorgeous at all hours of the day. This small, 170-acre mountain lake is the northernmost lake in the SRA, yet nevertheless offers breathtaking rewards without the hike. Is there any lake that perfectly captures the heart of the Gem State? Of all the lakes in Idaho, Stanley Lake arguably has one of the most iconic panoramas of any body of water in the Sawtooths (or in the state, for that matter). ![]()
